What is an ADU

ADU stands for Accessory Dwelling Unit. It is a small, detached living structure located behind the primary residence on a lot. ADUs include their own kitchen, bedroom and bathroom facilities. They are intended to be “accessory” to the primary dwelling on the property. They are commonly called an in-law suite.

What We OFfer

i20 Design offers pre designed floor plans for ADU construction. Our drawing plans come permit ready for the City of Atlanta, Dekalb County and City of Decatur specifically. The drawings are a key component to your permit submission along with a Survey and Site Plan. Our drawing package can be used for pricing, permit and construction of your ADU. We also offer several additional services below, to help with the permitting process and ability to customize your pre-designed ADU.

Additional Services

  • We offer our civil engineering consulting to complete the Survey and Site Plan for your ADU project. You need these documents for permit submission along with confirming the appropriate size ADU. Using our service ensures the success of the permit and overall project.

  • We offer the ability to alter the pre-designed layout to fit your site and needs. We can alter the foundation type or windows and doors to personalize your ADU for your needs and specific location. These changes can not impact anything structural or alter the sq/ft size of the predesigned layout.

  • We offer our preferred permit expeditor to handle the permit submission. The homeowner or builder can also submit the permit

  • We offer a full interior design service to help create a finished specification list for your ADU.

Permit + Construction + Builder

The city of Atlanta and surrounding municipalities will require a Survey, Site Plan and Architectural Drawings for permit approval for all ADU’s. We are offering all of these documents. We do not build or construct the ADU’s. The homeowner is responsible for finding there own preferred builder and negotiating costs of construction. Upon receiving your pre-designed package, the homeowner can finalize budget and timeline of construction with there preferred builder.
