Description

Located in one of Atlanta's intown neighborhoods, this house design incorporates a modern material palette and site sensitive form. The home was intentionally placed parallel to the creek, that runs along the property line at the rear of the home. It incorporates traditional southern design elements, like the front porch, as well as a 3rd level outdoor patio. Having multiple outdoor spaces at different levels gives the user a “tree-house” like experience and brings the home to life. The design also takes on “Flatiron Building” characteristics towards the front entry of the home, as a response to existing mature trees, also already located on the site. Designing around these mature trees and the creek, the homes form takes shape, resembling that of a moving locomotive. Because the shape of the home was a response to the site, it seems almost naturally placed and balances beautifully within the site.
